So, what do you think will happen to real estate prices? We currently own rental property, should we cash out now, or hold for a few more years? Our property includes a 5/3 in Round Rock, West of I-35.

Well, it's official my artsy-girl friend/contact is leaving Austin for...Fort Worth. Why? I'm not sure. Only time will tell if it's a mistake. But if you were interested in where the cool kids are headed, there you go.

Also my other buddy decided to stay in Vegas instead of moving to Austin. Guess that means it's working out for him?

Still kind of irritated so many of my friends moved to places that are hotter than, well, you know.

Denton has been a cheaper Austin alternative for a while.

We left several years ago. It became a nightmare to go anywhere any time of day due to the lack of road and infrastructure planning.

Lol I keep hearing to go to ft worth too. But is it as nice? Does it have hills?

Supposedly the wisecracking right wing radio host Glenn beck said Austin is overrated because Dallas and Fort Worth both have hills and lakes .

Apple has been in Austin since the 90's. The new Apple Campus is literally across the street from the old one.

That happened about a year ago.

First they'd have to get hired. Apple's hire rate is around 2% of applicants.

Funny how many people talk about "Well, when I moved here..." and then complain about the newbs. They added just as much to the traffic, the increase in rents etc. as their new neighbor from Chicago has.

People would love to close the door behind them.

No clue. It just surprised me is all. I mean this was the same girl who moved from Portland to Austin so maybe she's onto something or maybe she's just tired of moving.

I seem to remember people saying how much Dallas sucked, but that Austin was headed in that direction. I guess they meant headed for a million plus pop. and losing character? No clue on that one either.

Well I just picture Dallas being a really modern chic city with no real soul. It tries to be LA minus the eclectic avant garde fashion side of it. Essentially it's a city for the upper middle class conservative corporate types.

i left and it feels great! especially b/c there's a massive influx of east coast license plates i've noticed the last last few months. Y'all complain about Californians.. Jersey and New York will bury an Austinite when it comes to competing for a spot in line at a grocery store, a job opening or finding an apartment! they know competition better than almost anyone in the US

between slaughter and Anderson Ln, it seems like there is no rush hour during the day, because its traffic all day long! no way around it either.

Still can't believe how fast it all changed. IMO the original Austin and its inhabitants are few and far between
