Batten down the hatches!!!

7:32 p.m. update: Nearly 1,000 Austin Energy customers were without power at 7:30 p.m. in communities along Lake Travis in far west Austin and near Lakeway, according to the electric utility’s website.
7:30 p.m. update: The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for parts of Travis, Williamson, Burnet and Comal counties. The advisory is in effect until 10 p.m.

Big ole blob of orange on the radar! Some falling ON Lake Travis...not much upstream so far.

Let's be careful out there!

Too bad this didn't happen after we drain the pool...

Also I gave no power so I'm sitting in total darkness. Neighborhood eschews street lights too so I'm camped out on the couch for safety.

Salt level too high, causing salt system to not work. Have to partially drain in order to bring the salt level down to proper amount.

Poor Lake Travis...

NWS

most of the heavy rainfall missed the Lake Travis drainage basin and the lake level has only increased a few inches.

did you add too much salt by accident? There really isnt any way to increase the salt without adding it.

Also if the pool store tested your water keep in mind they are notoriously bad at testing water.

My daughter did a science fair experiment where she brought the same samples into 3 stores and even had the same sample tested twice at each store. The results and recommendations of what we had to buy were all over the place.

Boy that's too bad. As soon as it started pouring I thought how good that would be for the lake.

Anyone else notice that according to the weathermen it never just rains anymore? Nope, its always doom and gloom reports of "Severe Thunderstorm Warning" and "Flash Flood Alert" and all we really get is a little rain

This is the first of about a week of rain. You got 4" - we got 1". Sunday through next Tuesday are forecasted for HEAVY rains. It will all fall differently every day.

Let's see what it is like in a week.
