This is a really good idea. (& might be cheaper than Steak Night at the Palazio).

The original post had me thinking about the "7 Year Itch".

hubby even sounds like the Tom Ewell character.

Such an odd post. I would be pretty happy with no kids for an entire month. The house would be spotless and I could freely workout, work late, play video games, cook whatever I want, chill with friends, etc.

I assume he is not sports fan. because there is many events out there for sports right now.

I would highly suggest for him to go to Summer movie events by Paramount theater.

go out to Main Event learn a bit of simple rock climbing. once he feels he is good enough go out to green belt mingle

with all the folks who keep busy climbing rocks out there.

join an extended Austin Rowing Class.

Join a Soccer meet up through out the city.

Join Ad-hoc basketball meet up in the gyms through out the city.
.......

There is of course a ton of volunteer opportunities such as food bank .... to make him feel like he is contributing to something useful rather than sit in bar drink and watch the game ( like i spend my time.)

the most costly one.: he can patio renovation project on your while you guys are away

Foyle's War Season 1-7.

Bottle of Bulleit Bourbon.

That should do.

Very nice indoor gun range just off 1431 in Cedar Park. He could take a lesson, try some firearms, kill some paper. I'd be happy to show him around.

Excellent idea. & some other 5 Star "do not miss" mini series (along with the fabulous Foyle's War) to watch (if he hasn't already):

- The PBS "House of Cards" Trilogy. (the British one, not the American one)
- Lonesome Dove.
- Breaking Bad.

Season 1 and 2 of The Following. Then more bourbon to try to get to sleep after watching.

Too bad the OP didn't just say "we're new to town and looking for stuff to do"

They likely would have received some actually helpful suggestions. Instead, they get two pages of garbage and multiple insults.

Way to be helpful fellow Austinites.

Um, yeah. Exactly what I was thinking. He's a grown man. It's not your job to set up play dates for him.
