Way to be helpful fellow Austinites.
Have you ever watched Foyle's War or had Bulleit bourbon?

A beer roadtrip could be cool.

Upcoming Events → WhichCraft Road Trip #3 → WhichCraft Beer Store → Austin's Dedicated Beer & Bottle Shop

If he is into cars he could always check out Coffee and Cars.

Cars and Coffee™ Austin

Or just go hang out at Bangers on Rainey street and make some new friends.

Seriously I would be at the gun ranges, playing golf, mountain bike Barton Creek, stand in line at Franklin BBQ, sleep in till noon and relax, build **** in the garage, do home remodel projects, etc.

All this I have done by myself. He could too.

If you hadn't posted this - I would have said to take some shooting lessons. Maybe get his CHL.

Other ideas, if he has any geek in him:

Buy a quadcopter (drone) and learn to fly it.

Build a computer from parts bought at Frys.

Take a cooking lesson at Whole Foods.

A month to myself might be intoxicating. I would have an infinite number of things to do.

Run the Barton Green belt, rent a kayak and paddle on lake Austin.

Go on a BBQ spurt and visit some of the best bbq joints in or around Austin.

Maybe go bowling, go to the shooting range and rent and try shooting some hand guns.

Rent a mounting bike or road bike and ride on some user friendly trails / roads.

Dave & Busters is a cool place to kill time along with Main Event (play video games, eat and do some bowling ect).

So much to do

Gotta disagree here...the ability to prep and paint a room without kiddos getting involved sounds dreamy.

Don't even get me on the subject of children and table saws!
