Hi,

I've never posted on here before, but have found myself on this website many times and have always found it very informative so I thought I'd give this a shot. My current lease is up July 31st and I'd really like to find a guest house to rent instead of going to another apartment complex. I know this generally occurs via word of mouth or from seeing a yard sign, but I take the bus to work 6 days a week.... So... anybody know of anything? I work downtown and I'm open to hearing from anyone- except apartment locators. Please

what's your price range and min space requirements? I'll keep my eyes open, in Travis Heights and Hyde Park they don't come open often and lease quickly.

It would depend on how the bills worked out. In a regular apartment my max is 800. I would also need access to a W/D. I know it's a shot in the dark but I just thought I would put this out there and see if anything happened. Can't hurt to try right?

At least in central Austin, there won't be anything in that price range, maybe a "casita" without a full kitchen but few of those owners will want a full time tenant (they will make their $ for the year with ACL and F1 in the fall and SXSW in March).

I can venture outside central Austin, if the location was right. Just putting some feelers out there. Thank you

one just came open in my neighborhood, they rent month to month, 326 sq feet, garage apartment, wood floors, kitchenette, bathroom, separate entrance, $1100 a month.

I think that is pretty typical.

Dang...sounds like some of those Canadian 'Property' fix-up shows!
