This is our first time in Austin for the 4th, and we were hoping to catch the downtown fireworks show. Other than braving the crowds around the Auditorium Shores/Long Center area, what are some spots we would will still be able to see fireworks? Will the pedestrian bridge be packed? We've also considered just watching from across lady bird lake on the downtown side- but have no idea if that would work/how packed the area usually is, etc.

Another possibility would be finding a bar we could see fireworks from... but not knowing that particular area of Austin very well, all I've found so far is the Rattle Inn Rooftop. Surely there are others in that area??

Any thoughts, tips, advice?

Thank you!

Used to be the top of the MBank parking garage, but ...

Wonder how those parking garages at Barton Oaks (Bee Cave, E of Mopac) would be, or if you can even get up there after hours?

We live in Central Austin and were wondering this question too, as we would like to see the fireworks but don't want to get into crowds.
