Went to the Starlite Restaurant tonight...it is at 407 Colorado in the Warehouse District.

Thought I'd provide a brief review.

Excellent food. We ate at a small, cozy booth in the bar. Service was prompt and very friendly. No upscale restaurant snobbishness (HATE HATE HATE that). Manager came to check on our meals at one point = a nice touch. Mushroom truffle risotto appetizer as well as crab cake appetizer were amazing. Beef carpaccio was a miss. Entrees: i had the striped sea bass. Cooked perfectly. Couldn't be happier. Husband had a herb encrusted lamb chop. We've never tasted its equal outside the Palms Hotel (cloud 9 restaurant) in Las Vegas. Outstanding. Dessert was a mint chocolate chip ice cream with chocolate galette. Yummy. Would go back again and again. Thoroughly enjoyable and met some nice people to boot. wines were excellent. A great first fine dining experience in Austin! Yay!

Thanks for the review --- can you get out of there for less than $30 per person? If not, then it's definitely out of my price range. Heck, you can have a very good free meal just wandering around Whole Foods and getting samples from the various cooking stations and prepared food counters!

def. can't get out for less than $30/person...although you could make a meal of a couple of the appetizers and do it that way (the risotto and crab cake appetizers were VERY filling - could barely eat my entree!)
