Y'all were lucky enough to have a 'My Friend's Place' a few years back. I've been eating at the original one in Sandy Springs, GA for over 25 years! 25 locations now in GA but I believe the farthest west they go now is Ridgeland, MS. Anybody remember MFP in Austin? Owner was an aerobics instructor, I believe.

Wasn't singling you out...It's just when I hear people talk about bringing things from other areas to Austin I start getting the paranoid "they're trying to change Austin into something different!" Perhaps it's my paranoia, no personal offense to you.

Not sure why you are singling me out - as there are 3 pages of people chiming in about this restaurant coming to the area.

As for me personally, for groceries I eat by season mostly, so I almost always shop & buy local. Do you? And while I am super excited about the new Saltlick going in at Dell Diamond... I am also hoping this other place currently under construction is a Chik Fil-A.

With international & domestic import nowadays, you will be hardpressed to go ANYWHERE and find ANYTHING that you can't get ELSEWHERE, in some manner. Just FYI.

Sorry, their burgers are a heart attack waiting to happen! Would love it if they had Hardee's gravy biscuits for breakfast. Whataburger's does not hold a candle to that breakfast platter!

I have to put in a "yes" vote for Carl's Jr. When I spent time in LA, which was more than one time, I was surprised at how good they are compared to other fast food burger places. They don't have anything like it in Illinois, and I was told that Hardees is equivalent, but they are or were downstate and not coming back north anytime soon.

Be happy to be getting a Carl's Jr. It's really worth it.

I am going to champion a new word around here. From now on, I will refer to where I live as CAustin! There is so much I can suggest as changes, we are CAustin, you will be assimilated...

Maybe we should change the spelling of the restaurant to CArl's Jr., then!
