Check out the video of how the traffic flow will work at West Hwy 290/Wm Cannon. You have to watch for a while to get it, but I think this actually provides a lot more throughput.

The traffic engineer in me is skeptical about the safety of this design because it's so unusual, but I'm excited to see if it actually works.

There was a thread about that a while back and some discussion. I am not sure if it will actually help or not. It adds lights but little in the way of extra bandwidth....

290 and 71 is receiving a similar treatment.

My first impression was that they are going to build some sort of rams with overpass, but apparently they are going to cut extra lanes and put a lot of traffic signals to re-route traffic. Seems too complicated and I'm not sure if bunch of extra traffic signal and lanes with opposite directions will help with traffic there. I would anticipate even more congestions.
