Sorry LR I know Hutto is fighting it but I don't see how your town will get out of it. It's all about location and future growth and it looks like Hutto is going to take the fall.

Probably die a horrible death! Really, noone here wants to live by those things. So, it's only about future growth of towns not in the path of this thing. I hate how big industry just cares about the bottom dollar and would kill an entire town off just so everyone else can have some electricity.

People DO seem to love their electricity, though.... Very convenient.

We spent another afternoon in Taylor yesterday. Very pleasant town. People just coming up to us in the street, saying hello, talking about buildings, telling us how much they love Taylor.... I like that it's quiet but full of friendly people, kids playing in the street and stopping to wave at cars.

Without traffic, though, no weekday traffic at all, it took us 50 minutes to get from the capitol complex to the heart of Taylor. With city traffic added to that equation, that's a long commute!

What do folks know about the commuter rail coming to Round Rock or Georgetown? Is that at all a reality? It seems a shame that Amtrak runs between Austin and Taylor on a daily basis... why can't we get a commuter line going on that same path?

Or just a group of folks who are heading into Austin, past Dell and really into downtown Austin, to carpool? Is there hope for that, I wonder?

The houses are cute and people are friendly. It seems like a nice place, slow and quiet. We like that.

We also saw some more houses in our price range in Austin. Just horrible! it's a shame. I can't afford to live in Austin, as a state employee.
