Hi,
We will be looking to downsize in or around Austin over the next couple of years. We've just started looking and have noticed that so far we like homes that are not too old and not too new. Is there a source that will allow me to search for neighborhoods or zip codes by approximate age of house?

Thanks!

Maybe a realtor could do an advanced search, most listing do contain the date of construction. But on a neighborhood or zip level, it would be very mixed because you have infill construction, sections that were built out later etc. A good agent should be able to help you and will have a lot of that info in their head!

This won't tell you exactly when things were built but it will at least give you some hints.

Many of the MLS searches have boxes for "built before" and "built after" so it is possible to get an exact year, decade, etc.

On a side note if you want to have some fun try built before 1900.
