It appears that last night was the final night of Dallas Nightclub on Burnet Rd being open. I can imagine there were a lot of people showing their grievances by shooting off their 6-shooters into the night sky and riding their horses into the starry night. Wait, this isn't 1880!

But, seriously, I went there once and felt it was a cool place to go for a Texan nightclub feel. I know it's been around Austin a long time, so hopefully the last night was a lot of fun! It seemed like a good place!

Wow..that's a 'near-old' Austin institution. I guess, the last days of the central-city honky tonks are upon us! For me, it will be the forever home of Urban Cowboy (Austin-style)!

I agree! It definitely had the honky tonk feel to it! It was fun to dance while sipping on a bottle of Lone Star!

Just a matter of time, unfortunately.

I've driven past that place many times. I don't think I've ever see a car parked there.

It's a hideous old shopping center. Anything would be an improvement, even some VMU with a trolley car stop out front.

Yes, it is. It always has been. It was built on the site (I believe) of the coolest little bike repair shop, an old structure covered with vines, that was set back from the road a good distance. It was pleasant to go there, even on a hot day. Pretty sure that's where it was located, next to Gibson's, which became Tuesday Morning. I don't know what it is now.

I'll have to stop by then before they potentially close! It'd be neat to see another "honky tonk" bar.

I guess it will be replaced by some "mixed-use" facility.
