Looking at our last bill (electric portion). Total was $89.55 for 912 kWh for a 2,400 sf house with electric heat/dryer but gas stove/oven/water heater.

Fixed costs are only $10.00

Variable costs: First 500 kWh + 412 kWh + Regulatory charge + fuel charge + Community charge = ~$79.00

Rate structure for AE:

A few years ago when we lived in the DFW area, we had TXU Energy, which was really affordable. Does TXU not service the Austin area? Is Austin Energy the only option? I'm asking because we are considering moving back to Texas. Thanks!

TXU costs a more than AE, but it is available outside of the areas served by municipalities and cooperatives.
