Does anyone know of any film production companies in the Austin area? I'm not from the area but I know there is a lot of filming done in the area. I know it was just rated as a top place for shooting. If possible I'd like to get on with a company in Austin. I was thinking most of the feature filming was done by major studios out of California.....any ideas???

I heard on KUT this morning that Villa Muse is in a fight with the city over annexation of the land on which they plan to build. The land is out of city limits and VM apparently wants to build without paying taxes to the city (which they say is fair because the city collects no taxes on it currently - VM says Austin is welcome to annex AFTER all construction is done).
So it doesn't look good for VM in (near) Austin I'm afraid. Sounds like they may look into a different location where they can slip in untaxed. Austin appears to be dead-set on annexation before VM gets their hands on the land.

Did you hear if that's on the entire property, or just part of the land? I recal hearing something about this, but I thought it was only for a section of the land....let me know what you find out!

Um..I don't know. From the tone of the article I heard on KUT, I think that they were talking about possibly placing the entire project somewhere else in Texas.
