If I had my way I'd have a state between me and my neighbor. But unfortunately it isn't the world we live in and whether or not I want development or not is not going to stop the development from coming that way. It's there, it's happening. I'm just curious as to where it goes. Does it move up 1431 into Jones town and Lago Vista? Does it go up 183 towards Liberty Hill?

so which one is it? You want it to grow and become crowded, or not?

Plenty of stuff out here going for 80 cents to a dollar a foot rent. Not everyone wants to live downtown. Our townhouse could easily bring 2 grand a month for 2300ft(but access to FOUR pools )

Well being a first home we figured getting our feet wet might not be a bad idea. By no means the long term plan. I like my elbow room so this is a step up from apartment and townhome living. Next stop preferably acreage somewhere. While I might like the development for resale or rental of this home, I hate development that effectively turns your town into a concrete jungle. See Frisco TX for that. I used to live in Dallas and that place has become nothing but rooftops as far as the eye can see. Used to be farm land.

Per the original post - DH will be working downtown. Staying south makes sense, but it sounds like the husband is going to "take one for the team" and spend an extra 1-2 hours per day in a car for the extra 1000 square feet.

You will fit in just fine here in the Austin suburbs. Enjoy it while it's nice, then sell it when it's destroyed. Rinse. Repeat.

Not everyone wants to live in Austin. What would you assume they are getting ripped off?

Any comments from residents of travisso, utilities cost, traffic on 1431, etc. when is the amenity center is going to be open? We are thinking of purchasing there liked the views and topography of the place and homes are nice.

The drainage capability of that 'topography' is getting a pretty good test about now I'd sure hate to be downhill from an unfinished lot.

Might be a good weekend to check on any lots of particular interest.(or maybe wait until mid-week when it stops raining )
