Looks like there's a Travis County Bond Election for a new Cathedral....er Courthouse for 300 Million

Travis County puts civil courthouse bond election on ballot | www.statesman.com

I'll start a new thread....but it seems a HUGE county courthouse downtown is SO last century. Keep the current one (for the stuff that needs to be downtown) and then have 3-4 baby courthouse offices (say NW, SW & East) NEAR the citizens & near where the county employees live. (which could be easily funded with the sale of the downtown property) AND NO TAX INCREASE for a freaking 21rst century political cathedral.

Right, but people in Austin still need to vote for it.

Default upcoming election

Here's the ballot. Print it out and give it to a homeless person or illegal immigrant to test the theory that they want to vote illegally.

Seven stupid amendments are what you'd expect from our stupid state legislature, and here they are.
Oh, and a new courthouse for Travis County is the only bond proposal on here. It might be time for that, and courthouses usually work out best in the center of town for various reasons.

As someone who has been divorced twice, I have been in that courthouse many a time and it is just fine for what it is. The lawyers want a new courthouse but it is serving the county just fine.

This is one tax proposition I will be voting against.
