You want to build a flood control dam upstream. To have even a fraction of the flood control capabilities of the highland lakes dams, that would mean flooding out a large chunk of Hays County. The topography just _doesnt'_ support it. It's too shallow.

Look, the US Army Corps of Engineers (you know, the ones who build and operate dams) are also doing buyouts for Onion Creek. If another dam was at all feasible, and at all cheaper than hundreds of million of dollars in buyouts, don't you think they'd be doing that instead?

That's why I know an effective upstream dam would be many hundreds of millions. Because they've _already_ studied it and already rejected it.

^^^ This was not said in the document you provided. The closest statement to it I have copied below:

2. Williamson Creek Flood Hazard Mitigation and Ecosystem Restoration
The Corps completed the Interim Feasibility Study but was not able to recommend a solution in the
Williamson Creek watershed due to the high cost of land associated with ecosystem restoration. The
City is evaluating the Corps proposal for further re-evaluation

^^ and this quote doesn't say a dam was struck down, either.

Listen, It's Monday morning, and I don't have time for wild goose chase, or have time to correct your research for you, either.

WTF does the Williamson creek study recommendations have to do with the Onion Creek study recommendations?

Tuesday, my friend.

And since you're the one calling for hundreds of millions of dollars in spending, it's incumbent on you to do the research (since every single claim you've tried to make in your multiple threads has been disproved).

1. The usefulness of Onion Creek as a reservoir.
2. That flooding the parkland wouldn't affect the floodplain.
3. That there's somehow $100M of "topsoil" available.
4. That an upstream dam is feasible.

A document that covered two different studies (Williamson and Onion).

But since we're only talking about Onion Creek, that second section means exactly bupkis.
