The Watery Powers that Be seem to be of the mindset that a multitude of decisions will yield a few good ones.

I don't share their optimism.

The former comment was obviously about your pool filling.

And if that "bill" that crosses your desk includes a fine for breaking the watering ordinance?

I didn't notice that your comment was about the pool filling, oh well...you got me...what am I to do. Response is still the same - I have no intention of ordering a "truckfull of water".

Don't understand why you're putting quotes around "bill". Isn't that how you pay for water service - a bill is issued?

Sic the water police on me, as I don't care. I'll stagger it if need be, but I'm not going to let my landscaping die. Twice per week isn't unreasonable.

There is nothing wrong with pools. I have a 14000 gallon pool behind my house (aka "reservoir" ). I'm doing my part to increase our collective capacity.

It's been nearly 75 years since the government did anything to increase our water supply in Austin.

There's enough blame to go around here.

That's how you pay for service, but if you flout watering restrictions (which you seem to be advocating for) then the fine isn't a bill.

You're in RR. This once a week deal is in Austin.

Somehow I think we'll manage without Colorado Basin rice. There are far better places for it to be grown.

Yeah, I wouldn't eat that stuff on a bet. I've heard (don't know how true it is) that virtually none of the rice grown in Texas is sold in the US, that it all goes for export. I've also read that rice is especially prone to absorbing heavy metals in the environment, so, less rice is better (for me) and especially true for white, polished rice that's grown here. Filling maybe, but of little nutritional value and of questionable quality.

Are you kidding? Texas grown rice can be found in stores nationally! And please don't tell me that you think that white polished rice is a type of rice that is grown?! Most Texas rice is not grown in the Colorado River basin and no water has been released for agricultural in at least three years.
