There is a pretty large one out on 290 east of town --

Pretty much all the stuff you'd expect at flea market, knockoff watches and bootleg stuff, plus a lot Mexican grocery type stuff and fresh produce. It's a real experience, if you are into that sort of stuff.
Then there is the Austin Citywide garage sale..
City-Wide Garage Sale
Doesn't have the flea market feel, but it's a nicer atmosphere, more expensive, smaller.

We've been to the 290 one also. It IS hot and filled with people, but, like most flea markets, does have lots of junk. But I still say go and check it out. There's one up in Jarrell that was supposed to be good. We went, but didn't really think it was that great, although my daughter found a stuffed animal she couldn't live without. I wish I remembered the name of it, but we also went to one in San Antonio and it was Great! Had some junk and had some really good stuff too. It was North of town, or at least very North downtown.
