I found Turtle Rock in the Anderson Mill area, which will take the dog. It looks nice. But, looks can be deceiving. Anyone know about the Turtle Rock complex? What concerns me is that their site says max. 3 people in a one bedroom and 5 in a two bedroom. If the norm is more than 2 per bedroom, it would be too crowded/rowdy for me.

Also, any other suggested places that take German Shepherd mix dogs. Turtle Rock's rent is a bit higher than I was hoping ($1200 to $1400/month), but I will pay it if it is nice, clean, safe, and not a party complex. I'd also like some alternatives, in case they lack availability when I'm ready to move.

Once I'm there, I will find the right area to live (probably after 1 year). I won't have a commute, so I am ok with anything suitable on the outskirts or suburbs. A large one bedroom with a garage will work too.
I have a Weimaraner. My apartment is a two-bedroom and it's in a very desirable neighborhood in Central Austin. It's only $1,089/month. AND you can pay rent online.

Here is a quote from their website regarding breed restrictions:

We do not accept the following breeds:
Beagle, Chihuahua, Bloodhound, Chow Chow, Basset Hound, Pekinese, Rottweiler or all Terriers, including Pit Bulls.

The following breeds will be accepted under the condition that they will be crated when you are away from your unit: Miniature Poodle, Lhasa Apso and Shih Tzu.

Mixed breeds are classified according to which breed the animal most resembles in appearance and behavior.

When are you moving here?

Sometime between mid-March and end of May. Why? Do you have a sublet? What's the complex called?

We're leaving at the end of June but they might have a vacancy sooner. Le Med Apartments. 40th and Medical Parkway. It's two blocks from Central Market (best grocery store in town), One block from the Metro Rapid #803 stop, and four blocks from the Shoal Creek hike & bike trail, which goes all the way downtown and has a leash free zone.

Built around 1966. Super basic, but safe and there's a pool, common gas grill, and coin laundry onsite.

Three miles from the Capitol.
