Hello All

I recently moved from NY and living (renting house) in Steiner Ranch area because I have very good friends in Steiner. Also me and my family like this community, amenities, construction.

I recently got job near airport which will be too much commute for me. Can someone please suggest good school, communities with less commute for me? My husband travels or work from home. We both work in software.
My older kid will go to high school next year and she is straight A student. Please suggest.

Thanks in advance.

Are you wanting to rent or buy? There are many areas of South Austin that would work, but price would be important to know.

Not sure why you're being so cryptic if you are wanting help. Prices can range anywhere from mid $200k to well over $600k. How "flexible" are you?

By "airport" do you mean ABIA or Airport Blvd? While ABIA is close to Airport Blvd, Airport Blvd is pretty long in distance.

I'd look at hoods that zone to Austin High, personally. Or maybe live in Rollingwood, which goes to Westlake. You'd have a bit of a drive but nowhere near the drive from Steiner.

There isn't anything near $500K in Rollingwood.

Maybe the Mueller area? You would have the choice of several high schools in the area, from my understanding.

You don't have a choice. You can petition for a transfer, but Akins, Bowie and Anderson are all closed
