Exactly. Speed limits are posted, you know what they are, no one is out there trying to get you to speed. No trapping at all.

I haven’t warned drivers of speed traps, but I did flash a driver a few weeks ago on 29W because there were about seven deer by the side of the road a mile past. Of course, the driver didn’t know why I was flashing. Maybe we should flash in morse code. One flash, T, for Trooper. A short flash and a flash, A, for Animal.

It's proper road etiquette to warn other drivers when cops are using radar... The only thing I can think of that's worse than not giving your fellow civilians the heads up, are drivers who drive the speed limit in the left lane. Those ppl should be thrown in jail... Worse than murders IMO...

Yes I do, whenever possible. It happens at least twice a year on S. MoPac where we have wide, safe straight roads and most of the traffic is exceeding the speed limits, and I do not consider that a problem at all in those locations.

Not only is it not a trap. It is also APD policy that they do not issue traffic citations for vehicles traveling less than 10mph over the posted speed limit. So you are given a lot of leeway to be "trapped".

I know that this is a Texas forum..........

But here is the way that Police here in Ontario deal with "headlight flashers ".

They stop the driver, and ask them if there is anything wrong with the car's headlights ? The driver says "why do you ask " ? The Police officer says........well perhaps you need to go and have a safety inspection, to make sure that everything is working properly......Here is the summons, you have 5 days to have that mandatory safety inspection completed, and bring it to the nearest Police station, so the desk SGT can check off the form , and take your license plate off the computer database. By the way, that safety inspection is going to cost you $50.

All perfectly legal, under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, " safety inspections are mandatory, when directed by a Police officer, when the possibility of a defect is noticed ". The cost is borne by the car's owner or driver.

In the police community, its called an "attitude adjustment ".

I'll flash my lights at oncoming traffic, warning them that there are emergency vehicles (police cruisers) in the area ahead, and that they should exercise due caution while traveling through that area so as not to interfere with the life-saving work of the first responders ahead of them.

Safety first, don'cha know?

So obeying the law by not speeding is worse than murder? I take it you like to indulge in hyperbole.
