So, it appears that we have chimney swifts, and one has flown inside of our house. I understand that these are endangered, so chimney sweeps won't remove them. Does anyone know of an animal service that will help? Any experience with these little guys?

Area Wide Chimney Sweep - we;ve used this guy. his website says he'll get rid of critters, but maybe not. If not, try Rio https://www.yelp.com/biz/amazon-rode...ntrol-austin-2

He's just floppin' around in the house? Today would be perfect day to shut off the lights and open the windows to encourage his departure naturally.

Also a good time to install a spark guard/critter stopper on the chimney. You do NOT want other critters making their way in.

Yeah, that is what they said but we have large windows that are hard to cover. Hmmm.

Before it gets too late, open what windows and doors you can; but cut out the other light sources. Little critters are phototactic, so they should be attracted to the bright light of an open door or window...IF the room is otherwise dark enough. Good luck!

We cornered him and used a towel to pick him up, and take him outside. Cute little guy. All is well!

Well done! We used to get them inside the tennis center pretty regularly...lots of skylight-type windows. After they conked their little noggins into the glass a few times, they were more than happy for us to do just what you did...gentle towel-wrap rescue and out to freedom!!!
