Kinda weird, but I searched when the next session would start and found this:

Next Legislative Session
The Legislature will convene for the 81st Regular Session on January 13, 2009

So, basically there is almost a year before anything starts. Are all state legislatures like this? I hate to be ignorant, but I hope to get edurcated! (misspelling intentional).

The Legislature meets every 2 years in odd numbered years for only 140 days. It can be extended to finish up certain business for another 30 days.

I wonder how much of their money they'd want to keep is for facility maintenance? If so, Wimberley has really done this to themselves by shooting down every bond in the past 15 years. Their schools are falling apart and bursting at the seams but none of the retirees want to pay for new facilities. The high school was so poorly constructed that the contractor that did the plumbing used DUCT TAPE to connect some water pipes. My last employer was working with them on various things and I saw a bunch of pictures one of our engineers took. It was insane and wouldn't meet 3rd world building code.
