Have any Tornadoes actually touched down in Austin proper? I could only find a recent Funnel Cloud sighting in Pflugerville, but not much else on Google or in the Statesman.

Wow! I know exactly where 183@1431 is! I looked at some properties right near that intersection. How long ago was that?

hard to remember....maybe 10 years. it is/was one of the most deadly tornadoes in the usa ever......i think a cat 7. but a tornado isn't really something you should lose sleep over. the chances here are nothing compared to one of spring deluges that kill folks every year that drive across low water crossing

Here is a list that seems pretty accurate as far as I remember:

Central Texas tornado outbreak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

None in the city itself, but one in Travis county (Lake Travis area) apparently.

Also, the Jarrell tornado killed 27, according to above and:
The Jarrell, TX Tornado of 27 May 97

Thank you Chickenfry and Atxcio for the information!

I've experienced driving and walking under dark funnel clouds, but I guess I've been lucky in that none of them have ever touched down!
