Yikes that seems like a lot. Yellow cab quotes $70 from ABIA to Round Rock (32 miles).

You don't need to book a cab at the airport in advance, just have them walk to the taxi stand (outside, the far lane) and take one.

Good point...as long as they aren't the very first or last folks to arrive that day...and make sure they get into an actual taxi, not an unmarked vehicle(This isn't Italy; but it would be easy for an 'unofficial' taxi to present all sorts of problems to new arrivals.). Grabbing a taxi from the queue would also be easier than trying to time the arrival and baggage pick-up/customs check, etc.

Also, this thread is really, really old. Any specifics should be checked for accuracy.

Another recommendation is Cynthia's Manhattan Limo. Excellent local service.

It's not much more expensive than a cab, and has a dedicated driver who will be waiting for you.

I'm a frequent user and am very satisfied with them.

I used Super Shuttle last month and for the G/F and I to get to our place in NW Austin off Parmer from AUS it was around $35 for both of us.
