I would not live anywhere near Riverside & S. Plesant Valley Rd. Not sure about the rest of Riverside though...

As an alternative, here's where we are living:

My wife and I rent an apartment on S 1st just south of Oltorf. We are very close to downtown, SoLa(south Lamar district), South Congress(but not annoyingly close), have a bus route in front of the apartment and are within walking distance of many great things. We have an 835 Sq ft 1-bedroom with a great covered outdoor deck, loads of parking, a pool, a little workout room(although it's sort of lame) and we're able to have our dog and cat. When the weather is really warm, we get a little noise from the pool area but it's not too bad. I'm just becoming a curmudgeon as I age We've had the occasional loud a-hole yelling at 2am but this is not common and the place is pretty well managed. We pay $775 per month plus all utilities. The place was built in the early 1980s so it isn't really swank and modern(too old to be cool, but too new to be cool)but the layout we have is great and the place has a ton of beautiful, large trees.

We're pretty happy here. PM me if you are interested in the name of the place. Good luck!
