In my anticipation of our relocation to ATX, I've been stockpiling info on all the places we like to frequent and I am realizing that there is no Dick Blick or Utrecht's Art Supply in or around Austin. Where do artist stock up, window shop and go broke ? I work mainly in ceramics but am fond of and dabble in other mediums. Any suggestions ? Namely I am looking for fine art supplies, not crafts (i.e. not Michael's or Hobby Lobby type shops). Thanks!

I googled it and came up with about 5, excluding hobby lobby Asel, Ampersand and the Artist Pad were 3.

I saw Jerry's online as well, just wasn't sure the quality of supplies. Are the sales associates helpful? Are they able/ willing to order items? What is the store like ?

Jerry's is an awesome art store. Even though it is a chain, it has a very Austin vibe, good selection, good prices and great people working there.

Thanks for your response austifornian. What form of art are you interested in ? I take it form your s/n that you are a former resident of CA.

I love Asel art and Jerry's.... always having sales. As far as ceramics goes, check out Armadillo Clay and ClayWays

I saw ClayWays online, I just didn't know if they sold supplies or was just a studio with classes. I'll google Armadillo Clay, haven't come across them before.
