I have 8 years experience as a lead teacher and I am currently looking for a position in an environment that promotes independent learning through a hands on approach- cooking, lots of open-ended art (not crafts), science, sensory play. I have visited some local daycares and I am not pleased with the curriculum that is based on pencil to paper everyday, printed sheets for coloring, etc... I am constantly seeing the same schools with openings for employment which tells me their is a teacher turnover and sends a red flag to me. Can you suggest a school that would be right for me, that is supportive of there teachers/students and parents.

Try Hibibis Hutch. I remember reading something about them and their "unique methods".
I am sure you could google it and learn more. Then there is always the Montissori schools.
Good Luck!

It's Habibi's Hutch. I Googled them and it looks pretty cool! It's one school I hadn't heard of mentioned before, so thanks for the info.
