Funny stuff, but I find it amazing that the AISD has yet to name a school after the 1st mayor of Austin and the designer of the original city plan, Edwin Waller.
A creek & a street aren't enough, IMO.

Well to be fair Waller did a crap job of designing the city in relation to automobiles.

Stupid Virginia transplant.

Not numbers, but I really do think that schools should just be named for geographical location. it makes it easier to know which schools are where and just easier to keep track of.

Agreed. Even number imply that "pairs" or "couples" matter, which can hurt the feelings of unpaired, or "prime" people. As can odd numbers that are divisible, because, that can be divisive. Only Prime Numbered schools should be allowed.

But even if the namesake has offended nobody in modern times, you never know if 100 years later she suddenly becomes offensive through a historical reconsideration of her or his integrity.

Agreed. Or just the name of the street or neighborhood in which it's located. Unless of course it's on Ronald Reagan Blvd, or something that might offend someone. But even if the namesake has offended nobody in modern times, you never know if 100 years later she suddenly becomes offensive through a historical reconsideration of her or his integrity.
