Hey, go back to New England!!

Just kidding

I don't think that is, or has really ever been, big in Texas. I lived in Vermont for a while and would love to see some candlepin/duckpin bowling around here.

Default Played in in NH

I played it in NH about 35 years ago while visiting... It was fun and I think my sister in Canyon Lake said she played it here recently but I do not know where.

What does this have to do with Austin? Is there a great candlepin bowling place around? Isn't duckpin bowling for kids?

I doubt you will find it here. Candlepin bowling is very much a New England thing. I played a few times a child in Connecticut.

Interestingly, I was in Portland, Maine a few weeks ago and saw a televised Candlepin bowling tournament. The grand prize was $750.00.

Unfortunately, if you want to play, Texas is the wrong place.

I grew up candlepin bowling. I was even on a team (briefly)! I like regular bowling better, but I will say my wrists always hurt the next day (and they never did after candlepin). I'm pretty sure the only place you can candlepin bowl is New England. I've never seen it anywhere else.
