Went to early voting yesterday at Randalls on MoPac and Wm Cannon. That is by far the busiest I have ever seen early voting! Well over 100 people in line (and it seemed pretty constant). The tally sheet showed 970 people voted in the AM shift (7-12, I assume). I will say that seems pretty efficient, since that means they are processing a person in less than 20 seconds on average.

As an aside, that is by far the most people I have ever seen in Randalls at one time. The poll worker told us it was '40 minutes to vote from the mil, 20 minutes once you get to the cheese'. He was spot-on.

I think yesterday was busier than usual because it was the first day. I went at about 9:00 this morning to the Randall's in Steiner Ranch. It was steady, but the line wasn't too bad. I was out in about 15 minutes. They said yesterday was nuts.

Could you say which candidate's voters were in predominance at that Randalls?

I wouldn't be presumptuous, mainly 'cause I just can't tell . BUT, being Austin and based on past results, I suspect it is 'blue'. How much is the real question. The demographics seem to be pretty representative of the area in general - pretty even male/female, probably 90% hispanic/white combined, smattering of Asian, and one black guy (literally). Crowd seemed younger than I am used to seeing...mostly 30-60, I would guess, with a few younger and a few more than that were older. The crowd was calm and polite. I had a nice chat with a guy that worked with an orthopedic implants company. And the guy in front of me was retired marine from the 80s and then retired from Motorola in the 90s, and everyone working at the polls knew him and said 'Hi!'.

Only one that I know for sure is the mostly deaf elderly guy that was requesting help in figuring out how to vote, and he was making it very clear that "I DON'T CARE ABOUT THOSE OTHER RACES, I JUST WANT TO VOTE FOR TRUMP". He did receive assistance from a poll worker and I was curious how much of the actual voting they could do versus show him. Could they just do what he asked up to the point that you push the vote button? I don't know.

Lol, I pictured a "You are here" sign planted in the cheese.

I went to ACC Highlands yesterday to vote and noticed a steady line of voters, even more so after I left. And, @pop, I personally didn't hear anyone yelling "Lock her up!" or "Trump sucks!" or anything opinionated, but I also think the majority of people who voted were probably "blue", since I was more in north/central Austin. However, I personally split my votes amongst D, R, and Libertarians, since I feel government works best when the two parties need to work together and don't have a majority (at least in theory). I will keep who I voted for President a mystery, but suffice to say I'm proud of who I voted for, although there is little chance of him getting elected (his polling numbers are less than 10%).

But, it was good to see all those people voting! :-)

Only 10 people in line at City Hall during lunch time. The posted numbers on the door show about 550 the day before. Straight ticket Red here with a "yes" on the mobility bond.
