Thanks for the links, I know of USAJobs, but the others I haven't heard of.

Denver, I'll check out Cedar Park. I've seen it mentioned (along with RR and Pville) a few times on the board and was wondering what it was all about.

I've also noticed that people tend to talk about the northern suburbs (RR, Pville, Cedar Park, Leander) more than the southern ones ( Manchaca, Buda, Kyle, Elroy) is there a reason for this? By looking at the map it would seem the southern ones are closer to downtown.
Elroy?...can't say I've EVER heard of this as being a "move to" suburb of Austin.
Does have a nice race track nearby.

Well, I tend to talk about the northern suburbs because those are the areas that I know (I live in Round Rock and have lived in Pflugerville for 10 years). I have yet to set foot in Buda or Kyle.

Austin has always had a bit of a north/side divide -- with the river being the dividing line. PLENTY of people live in SW Austin, Circle C, Village of Western Oaks, because of the short commute to downtown. Buda and Kyle were teeny tiny Texas towns 30 years ago and development has come later than the northern towns of Cedar Park, etc. Both are probably worth a look.

One note, if you live in Buda, you are pretty much resigned to not working in Cedar Park, very hard to cross the metro area like that. And the same goes for living in Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, it means that you should rule out jobs for Hays ISD, Comal ISD, etc.

That makes sense. Right now my husband's commute is only 5-10mins. He hates traffic, so that is definitely a factor. Thanks!

Haha, I was looking at the map. I figured there was a reason no one had been talking about it.

I can understand that. In What do you think of the schools? Daycares? What do you like the most about living in RR and PVille? The least?
