Most cars have the 'auto' setting for headlights. I know I don't ever think about my headlights, the car takes care of that for me.

yea mine does as well. Never have to worry or take control unless its daylight and its raining i will manually turn them on just incase. Just tx law saids 1k feet visibility they must be on, and yet nobody turns them on. I had to flash a few cars to let them know and all i get is the bird. Did catch one at the gas station and he said he wont turn them on unless its dark. and other stupid remarks.

well hard to deal with stupid drivers. Its pouring down raining and no headlights is a mess, and #1 reason why we have accidents during the rain storms. Idiot drivers running around with no lights, running lights. The you got those think they are god doing 100 on slick roads only to see them end up in the median for acting stupid. I just laugh as i go by.

You should think about it because auto headlights doesn't turn on your tail lights.

AND...most aren't sensitive enough to "know" to turn on the lights during a daytime rain event. There is still plenty of ambient light making the computer think it's still too light for lights! Not easy to adjust on some vehicles, easier on others.

Just re-read that...pretty sure the auto-on feature DOES turn on all lights, including rear. It's the DRLs that don't give you tail lights...just front beams.

Probably emulating California with no lighting except blind spots. The highways in urban Texas are lit at night, so to compensate drivers turn their headlights off.

But honestly, some drivers think headlights (and tail lights) are unnecessary due to the excellent lighting on the urban freeways.

BTW remember the buzz from the news media about this being a gang initiation ritual back in the '90s? (Making a comeback? I doubt it.)
