Accepting buyout from Fords, Moving in January, Renting in Round Rock, Going to school at ACC Eastview campus, Will be looking for p.t. work for myself and my 17 yr old daughter. Any advice on shopping malls, 6th street and warehouse districs look like a good time. I love the many parks, we have many interest. Good doctors or hospitals? How do you like living there? It's archetechture, music, activity, arts, history, friendliness, ect is what made us decide to go there. Hoping for a fresh, new start.

Hi and welcome to Austin. I can't really comment too much on Round Rock except they have every store you could ever imagine there. Although I don't think they have an actual mall. They just opened an outlet mall and an IKEA. Shopping seems to be a big draw in RR.

As for things to do in Austin, please click on my name and look at my previous posts. There is one that is titled something like top things to do in Austin or something like that where you'll find lots of good information from many posters.

RR is a big enough place that you and your daughter should be able to find part-time jobs there. I would not suggest commuting to Austin.

I'm sure others who are more familiar with RR will chime in here soon. You are moving at a great time of the year. You'll probably think twice about why you moved once August gets here but don't worry. We all live through it every year and we're all still here!
