a good chili needs to contain meat, onions, garlic, chili powder, tomato paste/sauce, chili peppers, and kidney beans (which have soaked overnight). If you need to thin it out use a little beer.

When ready to serve, chop some red onion and grate some cheese.

Serve chili piping hot sprinkled with onions and cheese. Now that's some good eating there!

Drink cold Shiner Bock with the chili, dinner made in heaven!

Good chili doesn't have beans. Great chili has 'em.

My recipe is similar to cbach's but I add a smoky element with a bottle of Shiner, a half cup of strong coffee, and some unsweetened cocoa powder. Sounds crazy. Not crazy.

I'll have to try that. Adds a bit of a mole' flavor I guess?

Exactly. I don't want to brag, but I will. It's delicious.

They'll never suck as bad as bean soup, the Chicago Bears and barbecue sauce on brisket.

Not a chili. Sounds like something to put on a hot dog though!

What was this thread about again? Eh. Must not have been that important, but I'm hungry now.

Intelligence is one thing. But wisdom is knowing not to ruin a perfectly good conversation about chili.

Kidney beans are to chili as hardboiled eggs are to potato salad.
