According to the news reports, one must be very careful not to buy bogus glasses...might not be so easy in person or at "retail".

I heard on the news the other night that if you have not got your glasses by now, they would be hard to find....reputable ones anyway. If you have access to a welding shield that'll work too, that's what I'm using.

There are so many reports of bad (phony, not optically correct, erred) Eclipse glasses in circulation, I personally would not take the chance that I got a bad pair and thus damage my eyes. Go outside and enjoy the effect, but for seeing the details, watch it on TV.

This is my plan. To me, its far more interesting to observe the effects of the eclipse, rather than looking directly at the eclipse itself. I.e., feeling like it's dusk at high noon!

At this point, even if I could find some eclipse glasses, I wouldn't trust them. My eyesight is far more important then seeing an eclipse that I can watch online anyway.

Yep. Don't stare at the sun, kids.

Must be rated 14 or higher. Otherwise, you may sustain eye damage.
