Hutto has 2 of these things, small scale, coming as well; Carmel Creek and The Co-Op District.

Actually. Do need another cleaners. And maybe the pizza place won’t be junk. And a nail spa is gold given the SAHM demo.

Oddly enough. I tried to buy part of that land where the milestone project is on Brushy Creek (before it got rezoned) to put in a BBQ/Music venue. They didn’t even want to sell for that purpose - they were hoping for a gas station and convenience store.

My issue is traffic related. that intersection/area is already VERY congested and putting a Domain-Lite isn't helping. It's also well served retail-wise, so unless they're putting specialty hipster friendly shops there, I don't see what else can possibly go there that isn't already within a two mile radius.

at the same time, for all of those people who want an urban option in the suburbs, this is for you. In fact, keep those developments close to 35 and let the far east remain as is.

it's definitely a feather in Round Rock's cap, along with the transit service. by increasing the employers in the city, it can hopefully make Round Rock even less of a "bedroom town"

I think they should have a rail line into austin before they keep building mixed use sites like this.

I don't get the appeal of the Domain or Arboretum. I know some people who live at the Domain and I really scratch my head. Its just a luxury shopping mall, who wants to live at the mall?

In our case, Many here are excited about Carmel Creek because we've grown tired of having the same things here for so long. It would be nice for a change not to have to leave Hutto for things.

it isnt just a luxury shopping mall.

1) it is outdoors
2) lots of austin restaurants vs chains
3) bar area
4) lots of corporate offices
5) apartments
6) outdoors means live music and some small parks
7) the scale is much larger than a mall which means you can jog, walk your dog etc.

Outdoor malls like fashion island in orange county dont have housing or corporate offices integrated in. Usually they dont have the density of restaurants that rock rose has (except maybe downtown disney). To partake everyone has to drive there.

Domain has housing so lots of people living and working right there.

A better comparison might be downtown Walnut Creek, Ca. With improved green space.
