I just discovered I have a nail in the grooves of my tire, where is the cheapest place to get my tire plugged?

Does discount still plug? Several places I checked last I had an obvious problem say they 'aren't allowed' to plug anymore. As I recall, the benefit to me from plugging was it didn't take as long... charge was the same. Much more labor to dismount and patch... so I'm not sure why they aren't doing it anymore.

IIRC, Discount Tire doesn't charge to repair a flat. It's been their position that offering that service brings folks back to them when they need new tires. It worked with me - they fixed a flat for free about 20-25 years ago, and I've been buying tires from them ever since. They also offer a Road Hazard warranty on tires - if they sell the brand of tire you have, they'll even sell you a warranty if you didn't buy the tire from them! Sure pays off for me - I seem to attract nails.....lol

These are pretty good arguments against just sticking a plug in a tire.

Discount Tire did a free plug earlier this year. Sure enough, once I felt the tires needed replacing we came back and bought a set. And forgot to complete the mail in warranty.

If you bought their warranty, there's nothing to mail in. They'll have you in their system, although it's a good idea to keep a copy of the paperwork in the vehicle. I've never had an issue.

I've enjoyed three tire purchases from Discount Tire, each with a rebate that could be filed online. Rebates were from DT and the manufacturer...all received in a timely fashion. Gets the net cost of tires down quite a bit!
