Hi everyone, We moved to Austin about five months ago and need to buy a new bed frame. We don't need a whole bedroom set with nightstands and dresser, have ones we love, just need a new bed frame. We'd like to spend less than $500. Anyone have any suggestions of stores to look at? Being new to Austin I just don't know where to start and want to avoid stores with a bad rep. Thanks for the help!

It would help to know what style you are looking for. if you just need something cheap I would do rooms 2 go. If you want something nicer, try four hands (they are based in austin and sell to restoration hardware). There is ikea of course.

I personally would check craigslist first. On my neighborhood facebook group people are giving away bedroom sets all the time.

There is a pottery barn and RH outlet in the outlet malls in san marcos.

Also if you have a Nextdoor group in your area, ask on that. Chances are you'll get a free one.

Do you use a box spring or no box spring? I completely agree with the CL suggestions and neighborhood groups. Also there is IKEA in Round Rock.

Thanks so much for the ideas guys. I don't think the craig's list or used route is something I'd like to do but I think we'll definitely check out the outlets and Four Hands. Those seem like pretty good options for us.

An old time family owned furniture store is going out of business - Gage Furniture. You might be able to pick up something really nice at a bargain price. There are tons of furniture shops in that part of town (Burnet Road) as well. Furniture Row is one of my favorites. Also, Four Hands has an outlet store near there as well.

If you don't get the one from Four Hands, Gage might be a place to check again. Even though I believe this is an actual "going out of business" sale, they advertise that new merch is still arriving...and is deeply discounted. Who knows what the real numbers are; but might be worth another look.
