For 300-400k there is quite a few options in Teravista. Teravista is great for families, HOA has monthly events and many are focused on young children. Also 3 nice pool areas for hot summers are great and other amenities are available. Next door is new Viscaya where there is new houses also available in that range with lower property tax rate (2.35%). Also Teravista has still few new houses available in Georgetown side. Schools are great till middle school

Ok, at that price range there are a lot of options. Teravista is good if you're into the newer master planned thing and it's definitely closer. IMHO there's no real need to open your housing search to Austin given your parameters as it seems to squarely fit in the demographic that gravitates toward neighborhoods like Teravista. I can only really speak for Round Rock, these other neighborhoods may fit your bill as well - Wood Glen, Hidden Glen, Forest Creek, Sonoma. If you don't mind older more established neighborhoods there's Brushy Creek North, Cimmaron, and areas in that vicinity. Forest Creek I know very well, it is an older master planned community that has a pretty solid school track. My only knock against Teravista is the high school, it's the weakest of RRISD, but that may change by the time your kids go to school. They are going to have another HS on the east side but I'm not sure when it will be built. On the east side, I'd prefer neighborhoods that zone to Blackland Prairie, Forest Creek, Herrington, and Ridgeview Middle. With the exception of the newer Herrington, the others have been around at least 13 years and have solid performance.

My suggestion.
The Oakland's. Established, nice trees.
Best elementary school Fern bluff
Middle Schools ok. But all middle schools tough. Tough age for kids.
Round Rock High School. Nice campus
Great HEB grocery
Less traffic,quieter area
Short commute
300K to 385K. Not much inventory. But could change in spring.
Welcome to Texas

Not sure if you’ve decided on a place yet but I agree with much of what has already been discussed. In your price range you’ll be able to find something nice with good schools easily. Round Rock ISD is one of the top districts in the state and the majority of the schools are rated highly. If you’ll be working at Seton, I would suggest neighborhoods that feed into Round Rock High or Cedar Ridge High. The areas directly around Seton are zoned to Stony Point which is ranked the lowest HS in RRISD.

Sendero Springs, Wood Glen, Behren’s Ranch, The Woods, and Bent Tree are all nice areas which feed into RRHS. If you’re looking for more established, tree-lined neighborhoods try Brushy Creek North, the Oakland’s or Round Rock West, also feeding into RRHS.

If you wish to stay on the Eastern side of RR(likely a few minutes closer to your work depending where)Lake Forest, Forest Ridge, and Sonoma along with the more established and prestigious Forest Creek all feed into CRHS, the newest HS in RRISD. There are also new neighborhoods popping up which feed into Cedar Ridge like Concord at Brushy Creek, and Forest Grove which look nice.

Others have mentioned Teravista which is a beautiful neighborhood, very close to the best shopping and some great restaurants. The only drawback would be Stony Point HS but the feeder patterns are constantly changing so things could always change quickly.

Bottom line is it is hard to go wrong in Round Rock. It is extremely safe and family oriented with a lot going on to fit your specific lifestyle. Good luck!
