Brushy Creek MUD by Round Rock is not affected by Austin’s boil warning.

And now, the City is prohibiting all outdoor use of water! And (this is getting serious) Starbucks is no longer making handcrafted beverages! Only bottled and packaged items will be sold.

Hot drinks should be steeped at temps enough to kill any bacteria. I would understand that iced coffees using cold filtering would not be served but hot filtered drinks should be okay. No ice though, ice would not be sterilized.

So are restaurants not adding ice to any cold drinks? The ice could be contaminated. I guess I'll stick to beer...

I suppose faucett water is unsafe for cats and dogs as well as humans? The rain couldn't have come at a better time. I been filling up some jugs with rain water for them.

Bill Miller on Slaughter wasn't selling any drinks, including sweet tea when I stopped in about 6pm this evening. I imagine they will have something figured out by tomorrow so they can sell their sweet tea. They would stand to lose alot of money if this faucett water is going to be unsafe for the next week or so. Most people want sweet tea with their bbq.

I would boil the water, cool it, then serve to the dog and cat.

Do not use any ice from your freezer, it is contaminated. For cooking tap water is fine as long as you are boiling it and it is boiled for at least 2 mins.

Hmm.

Usually you are supposed to boil water for 3 mins then add the tea bags. That should kill all microorganisms.

They just can't add ice to it.

Oh, ok, thanks. That's a good idea. I hadn't thought about the ice cubes being contaminated.

I wonder if it's unsafe to brush your teeth, as long as there are no open cuts in the mouth and the water gets spit out and rinse the mouth out with listerine?

They say to use bottled or boiled for brushing teeth.

Many restaurants are closed.

Starbucks does not meet the "boil for 3 minutes" guideline, so I am pretty sure they are covering themselves from liability.
