Just live as close to downtown as you can afford.

With a budget of 3K per month you could live in a small apartment right in the middle of downtown, or have an entire house in East Austin or Bouldin.

OMG! I find parking at the Domain to be a complete nightmare! I'd rather poke myself in the eye. I avoid it as much as possible.

You just need to get used to where the parking garages are. For example for rock rose we park in the garage by mitchell gold. We can usually get a spot right near the entrance. We never have to drive in circles looking for a spot and the parking is free.

This. It's been that way from the beginning, thus the reason I don't go to the Domain if I can possibly help it (and I can ALWAYS help it). Closest I will do is Whole Foods, and I've been there I think 3 times since they've opened.

I never have issues finding parking at the domain, the garages have plenty parking. Always.

To the OP, I'd get an apartment locater or agent. 3k budget is super healthy and you have plenty options.

Depends on where your job is. If it’s on Research Blvd or Parmer, the Domain is a good fit. If it’s Downtown, look around West 6th or Rainey. If it’s SW, look at S Lamar.

I agree with this. If your job is in North Austin I would say Domain, because fighting Austin traffic day to day sucks. If you are working at Downtown, I recommend one of the downtown condos around Shoal Creek. (The area by Seaholm or Whole Foods).

I would say Rainey St. if you did like to party. It has the best nightlife for your age. But if you want something a little less debaucherous Seaholm is probably good.

Compared to downtown a lot easier and cheaper. I got lucky and got a street spot last night in front of the store I was going to.
