Do Californians have the same attitude about Texans? I would imagine that there are more former Texans there than the converse.

From what I hear, they do. But I think we're just nitpicking here. With as many people leaving California for whatever reason, I doubt there's as many there as there may have been.

I have never heard a Californian complaining about Texans or badmouthing Texas. But I don't think there are masses of Texans coming here - well, at least to my part of California. I think whenever any community feels "invaded" by lots of people moving from where ever, there is a tendency to be critical, based on fear of changes. I think that's just human nature.

I think you will be surprised on how it feels. I moved here from Santa Cruz and find myself enjoying being outside in the heat. More than anything it wasn't so much the heat when I moved here it was the intensity of the sun from dropping 7 degrees in latitude. The first few months I had a perpetual mild sunburn which made it feel hotter than it actually was. After a while your body adjusts to it and when you visit CA you start feeling cold.

What I am still not quite used to is living in actual weather. It's possible here to walk into the grocery store wearing shorts in 80 degree weather and by the time you finish your shopping step outside into 55 degree weather with the wind blowing making it feel like 40!
