I read over the next 50 years Austin and San Antonio will be in the same corridor with the increase in population in both cities is this true?

I can't say but I kind of doubt it personally. San Antonio is a decent bit further from Austin (aprox 90 miles) than say FortWorth from Dallas (aprox 40 miles).

we are already in the same corridor, the I35 corridor. Even if we become part of a megalopolis, which won't happen by 2030, both cities would retain a separate identity and governing structure. So short answer, NO

Really, it doesn't matter. Experts tell us we are doomed in 12 years. A lot of young kids agree, so it must be true.

Absolutely not!
1) very different cities, and each will purpose to stay different.
2) very far apart with decent sized cities between each.
3) plenty of barren land between,.... Which will stay barren
4) no pressure to join the two

Plenty of other options.

Consider Boulder and Denver. Very near each other, very different cities.... High growth for last 50 yrs. (Much of it from Texas). Have not become one, will not become one.

Eventually our sun will die, and expand and consume the earth. In the mean time, it's April 20th so who cares... Carry on!

Yes, but unlike the metroplex, it's the smaller city that will never accept it.
