On Saturday, I drove out to Buda via Brodie/1626/967. As I passed the south end of 45, I looked over and saw that they were painting and doing something with the light at the intersection. On my way back later that afternoon, they were removing the barrels and getting ready to open up the road (or so it appeared). I was a bit disappointed I wasn't just a bit later so I could be the first to drive on the road .

But, I wasn't on it this morning and will likely only use it a couple of times a year.

FWIW, it doesn't show up on my google maps yet.....

I took it on my way back from Wimberley Sunday late morning. The getting on and off the toll from south 1626 looks a bit daunting, but the north bound traffic can completely bypass it. I had no need to take it today, but will be once I head back to work this August. I’m hoping it does what everyone I saying and cut down on the Brodie and Manchaca traffic. The toll is free from now until June 30th so that will be nice for everyone who just wants to see what it’s about. I’m excited for the trail as well. It will be a good addition once it starts to cool off and I get back into my running.

Yeah I'm disappointed with google maps. They should be on top of this.

If someone unfamiliar with the area were to drive through(any direction), would the road seem logically placed and useful? Locals will have a frame of reference; but I might find myself driving through there for the first time soon.

In other words, "Can you get there from here?"

For non locals, until the section between I-35 and the current alignment opens, its useless. After that portion opens it will be quite useful.

Wow...that's 11 years and counting since I first drove in the area and wondered why the flyovers didn't connect with anything and certain roads just "stopped".

Another reason to stay in north-north Austin, I reckon

If you know you’re going to be going north or south on 1626 you should be fine. The north bound side stops at a light to cross over and the southbound side merged into traffic. If you know if you’re going to go north on Mopac or continue on the short stretch of 45 you’ll be fine. And special trick, you miss the big light to go northbound on 1626 if you exit bliss spillar instead.
