Are there any suburbs of Austin, or neighboring towns, that have nice walkable quaint/upscale downtown areas of their own? thanks

Georgetown would be my first choice. Round rock is becoming a solid second and getting better year over year. City council is committed to maximizing quaintness and has attracted good non chain restaurants. That’s the case for both cities.

Round Rock’s revitalized downtown appears to have more eateries & bars in its few square blocks than Georgetown’s pretty square. Not as many junk shops though..... and no theater.

Yep....Round Rock is trying to become bar central...at least at night. Wouldn't call it quaint, OP...or particularly upscale.

But i think the RR city council has restricted the number of bars downtown to 14.
They don’t want it to devolve into another dirty 6th Street.

Well I find it quaint/charming. And there are upscale restaurants. Sure there are bars but there’s also family dining, coffee shop, candy/ice cream shop. It’s not a mile of hipster drinking holes that’s for sure. We suburbanites need breaks from our kids to imbibe every now and then

It’ll be interesting to see what is done with the library, once the new one is built in that block on the north side across the street.

At that main intersection (Mays and Main?) one night(with the convertible top down), I could hear music blasting from east and west; but couldn't make out the tunes or lyrics for all of the competing din!
I don't think most would call that quaint; but it ain't Bourbon St for sure!

But I wonder what the geographical limits are.. Two blocks on either side of Mays? After that, anything goes???
