Still is from my understanding.

On another note, I grew up with the daughter of the owner of Jim’s. She was kind of snobby. And that’s being kind.

I used to work right down the street, and Ken's breakfast taco runs were a pretty regular occurrance at our office. Those things were huge.

The best fast food Mexican in the region in my opinion is Taco Palenque on Northbound 35 in New Braunfels. They are out of Laredo. I would love for a Taco Palenque to come to far South Central Austin.

A local favorite Mexican restaraunt of mine is Casa Garcia's in the strip center on SE corner of Manchaca at Wm Cannon. It's been there for at least 30 years and have a good business but it don't seem like it gets the recognition it deserves.

Another favorite in South Austin is Flore's on West Wm Cannon almost Oak Hill. It's west of the Torchy's Tacos.

Would also love for a Taco Deli and a Tacorrido to come to Far South Central Austin. Southpark Meadows would be a great location for either of them and a Taco Palenque would be a good fit. Convenient off and on to 35.
I love Casa Garcia, I go to the one in Plfugerville and they have some of the best chips n salsa I've ever had, the food is also very good and you get large portions for your money, agreed it doesn't seem to get a lot of recognition.

Carnitas El Guero on North Lamar. Best quesadillas and carnitas I've ever had.

I'm pretty sure that Tacos More was named Tacos Moreno until a major wind damaged the sign. They just left it like that which is not untypical :-)

Macho Taco - has become my latest favorite Mexican restaraunt. It's 12110 Manchaca Road in a small strip center on west side of the road, just north of the Menchaca Elementary school. They have the best consistently good migas of any restraunt I have been to. They give enough food to easily make 2 meals out of it and possibly 3. Only downside is they close at 3.

I guess it's a shame I REALLY don't like raw jalapenos, raw onions, or cilantro. Cuts down my restaurant options quite a bit

I like Azul Tequila on Dry Creek, mainly the seafood dishes. Nice outdoor patio, too, which these days feels safer than eating inside.
