I am looking for someone who would be willing to take some boxes to my daughter in Portland from the Austin area. Anyone have any ideas?

You’d trust a random person on the internet to take your families personal belongings half way across the country? Brave soul.

Not everyone treats life like a warzone.

Lol, seriously. What do you call a moving or a shipping company if not complete strangers handling your personal belongings?

OP, this sounds like a potential situation for Craigslist. Ignore anyone who doesn’t have good grammar and can’t give specifics.

I had never heard of this, cool concept, but $526 to send a couple of boxes? Yikes!

I’d just pack them well and go UPS or FedEx ground.

I saw it at a triathlon expo years ago. I’m assuming you’re pitching in with gas/mileage. If you’re going on a road trip, why not throw in some things and make a lil money while you’re at it?

For what it's worth when I moved from Seattle back to Atlanta, my car needed too much work to make a 3k mile drive so I delivered a strangers SUV from Seattle to Orlando, stopping in Atlanta to drop all my belongings off, and flew back from Orlando to Atlanta.

I also not long ago flew in to Columbus Ohio to deliver a friends Camaro ZL1 back to Houston.

I'll check it out, my daughters car is packed to the gills and we still have extra stuff needing to go.

I actually used it to quote the OP's scenario, it was $526... That's a bit more than "pitching in for gas", unless they only get 11 MPG.
