We sold our house at circle C Ranch . We want to move into an apartment and we are both in our early 70s . One of us is extremely active and walks in lap swims etc. and the other one uses a walker and sometimes a wheelchair . We would like to stay in South Austin and have no idea where to start in terms of looking for an apartment . Any suggestions? It would have to be a first floor unit , well-maintained , good reputation. We are empty-nesters but two bedrooms would be nice ........

Thanks

Affinity at Southpark Meadows and Village on the Park are in the area. They might work for y'all. Both are within about a 20 minute drive in traffic from where you were before in CC.

Sounds like y’all are ready for a 55+ retirement community.

Wouldn't be against it but I want more than just a room . We plan to do our own cooking and we are independent . maybe I should look into over 55 apartments and condos . I just don't know where to start looking. we're definitely senior citizens! :-)

There are some 55+ apartment complexes around town, but I can’t name any off the bat. You might want to consult with an apartment locator service. Supposedly they do not charge a fee, as they are paid by the apartment complex owners.

The wife & I are both 74 - however, not ready to make that move ourselves.

There is a Brookdale community (independent senior living apartments) called Brookdale Gaines Ranch which is over by the Sunset Valley shopping area near Kohls and Best Buy. Also there are lots of nicer/newer apartment complexes near where William Cannon meets Southwest Parkway, and a couple on 71 near Covered Bridge Road and 71. Also there are a couple right at the Davis Ln. exit off of Mopac which would be very close to Circle C. These are just some observations from driving around these areas a lot.

Except the OP asked about South Austin. Not Marble Falls.
